I watch so many movies it's ridiculous. So I've decided to start posting a trailer and review for any amazing movie I see. And I'll start now.

Josh and I wanted a quiet night at home alone on Saturday because we've been running around like crazy and never have time to ourselves. Sooo, we made a huge bed in the living room of all the pillows and blankets in our house and rented a movie. We usually spend hours arguing over which movie to watch but because Josh didn't care, naturally I chose a vampire movie.

Let the Right One In is a Swedish movie about a boy, Oskar, who is bullied at school and spends his nights outside dreaming about ways to stand up for himself. He soon discovers a new girl in the neighborhood, Eli, who of course is a vampire. Long story short, Oskar discovers she is a vampire, she teaches Oskar how to stand up for himself, and Oskar helps her keep her secret. Although this is not your every-day vampire flick, I LOVED it. It was original, horrific, and still somehow innocent. This movie IS Rated R for violence, so let it be known that there is blood.

My recommendation: don't watch the movie with dubbed English. It's tacky and you'll laugh more than anything. Watch it in Swedish and read the subtitles. The trailer is at the bottom of this page.

I know that is completely out of character for me to say (referring to the title), but I'm going to follow in the footsteps of good ol' Essy here and post today about the Miss California Gay Marriage controversy. I would first like to say that I have many gay friends and feel in no way whatsoever superior to them. I respect their fight for gay marriage and applaud them for being so passionate about their priveledges and freedoms. However, all of the lashing out against Miss California is completely ridiculous. She was asked a question and because she is a dedicated Christian she answered in a manner that was honest with herself and her beliefs. Many people are saying that she is representing California and should have maybe lied or avoided the truth, but I say that she IS representing California. Which side won when voting for Prop 8 again? Oh yeah, YES won, meaning that the majority of California opposes gay marriage. How is she in any way not properly representing California? And who is Perez Hilton to say "I scored her zero for that answer and that lost her the crown"??? Ridiculous. If you are going to fight hard for your freedoms, you sure as hell better respect the rights of others to speak their beliefs. Perez... your hypocrite is showing.

And on another note, I'm very proud of my office-mate and friend Laura for placing 4th in the pageant. Woooo! Not bad for her 2nd pageant ever, eh?
